Senior Legal PA or Legal Executive | 5+ Years NZ exp in Family Law essential

Auckland CBD | Senior Legal PA/Legal Executive Family | Ref: ELR3596 | Support Staff

WFH one day per week; Well appointed Barristers' Chambers in the heart of Auckland's CBD;Exceptional contract role for an accomplished Family Law Legal Executive or PA;

Our client, a highly respected and fast paced Barristers' Chambers based within the heart of Auckland's CBD, would like to appoint an experienced Senior Legal Secretary or Legal Executive with a background in Family law gained within New Zealand to replace a staff member who is going on parental leave. This is a 9 month contract commencing on 15 June for a full handover with the current incumbent. The successful applicant must be able to commit to the full term of the contract. A minimum of 5+ years' experience gained within a New Zealand law firm or Barristers Chambers in family law/relationship property is required.

As an accomplished family law Legal Executive or Senior Legal PA, you will have a natural ability to handle people from various walks of life who may be going through difficult situations and be calm, professional and ethical in your approach. It is also imperative that you are an independent thinker whose strengths will include:

  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Willingness to be flexible
  • Use of initiative and ability to be one step ahead
  • Professional, ethical and courteous on the phone and face-to-face

The successful applicant will work directly 1:1 with this highly respected Barrister and assist with the smooth running of the office and therefore it is important that you possess sound technical skills, solid relevant experience and the ability to draft documents pertaining to relationship property and trust property. There is the opportunity to work from home on a Thursday offered however this is a full-time role working the hours of 8 am to 4.30 pm.

This position is varied and some of the duties will include:

  • Preparation and drafting of court documents, agreements and court bundles
  • Managing new client engagements, website referrals
  • File management, diarising court dates
  • Office management and general administration duties
  • Assistance with IT queries
  • Timesheet entry, billing and invoice
  • Assisting with GST returns
