Intermediate to Senior Solicitor | RM/Local Government

Our client is a well known and highly regarded law firm. They have an exciting and challenging opportunity in their RM/Local Government team. The role works alongside very experienced Partners, the work will be diverse and the environment very team oriented and inclusive.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will need to be self motivated, confident, reliable and willing to work as part of a close knit team. Your ideal background and skills will include:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high quality work;
• A passion for this area of law and a desire to provide exceptional legal services to clients;
• Proven experience working in a similar type role.

The Role

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Opinions and court pleadings;
• Appearances as a junior in all forums:
• Advising councils on local government issues, including on liability in tort and on statutory decision making and enforcement;
• Assisting with advising on resource management matters and plan change processes.
